At the Liverpool Tutor Company we provide tutoring services for all learners, covering all the core subjects like maths, English and Science. We have many different resources that students can use but the one we would like to focus on today is the A level maths past papers. Past papers can be incredibly useful in the review process of a student but it is important that they use it efficiently. One of the problems with schools these days is that they tend to take content out of past papers and trickle them in homework throughout the school year. This results in not many papers being left for students to take and revise once their exam days come around.
The advice we give to most learners is to try their best to avoid using the A level maths past papers before they really need to. This resource can truly come in handy when they are revising in preparation for exams. Mainly for identifying what parts of a topic they are strong in and in what parts they are struggling. The process would start with learners sitting a paper that they have never seen before, in exam-like conditions. This is to give them the opportunity to replicate and prepare for what it may feel like when taking the final exams. Once the exam has been completed, it will need to be marked using the official mark scheme or model solutions that are provided by many different websites. Once they have done this, learners need to check the questions they got wrong and study those parts as that will show what they are weak in. This becomes a matter of repetition so they must take multiple different past papers until they will begin to see results. After a while the mistakes should become less and less and students should go into exams confident and ready.
There are many different resources that can be used to revise and the A level maths past papers are just one of many. If you want more information about it or you have any general questions on your mind about our services, please get in touch.
